Goals with a Side of Umami- Recap

Sharing Gratitude, Lessons Learned, and New Connections

A Matter of Taste workshops always spark new ideas and conversations, and our Goals with a Side of Umami workshop surfaced goals we all share:

  • Achieving balance

  • Sharpening a sense of self

  • Connecting more!

Following a tasting menu of four courses, the pairing of goal clarifying techniques and umami-rich dishes and flavors connected new friends and colleagues over real conversations about what’s holding us back from our best selves and chosen achievements.  From vision statements and real feasibility checks to real-time opportunities to connect on technical, social and professional needs, we also covered solid ground on setting and achieving realistic goals as individuals and in team settings.

Capturing the steps in their worksheet, participants also hit the mark for 1.5 PDUs (professional development units), for those tracking their professional growth!

We were so happy to be able to use this experience at the pop-up in Pioneer Square to implement our integrated model of doing, learning and tasting by tapping into the core of team collaboration and connection.  From there, anything is possible.

We were also delighted to be able to introduce our sensory partnership with Juanita Unger, The NA Sommelier, who helped us design our umami-rich elixir cocktails using her recommended alcohol-free options.
